Cellulite Reduction Fredericksburg

Surgical Arts of Virginia offers permanent cellulite reduction in the form of laser lipolysis. Cellulaze is a recently FDA approved cellutite treatment utilizing the Cynosure SmartLipo Laser. Dr. Palmer performs laser lipolysis and cellulite eradication with the CoolLipo 1320nm laser.

First, the areas of treatment are delineated with a marker and the bulges and dimples that comprise cellulite are identified and marked. The area of treatment is then infused with a lidocaine solution to obtain anesthesia. Dr. Palmer offers sedation, either oral or IV, if the patient so desires.

Next, small, 2 millimeter puncture wounds are used to allow placement of the laser fiber beneath the skin. The laser energy melts fat at the bulges of the cellulite to reduce their height. The heat also tightens the overlying skin. Following this, the skin dimples component of the cellulite is released by cutting the fibers beneath the skin that cause the dimpling. Both the laser and a special tool are used for this. A compression dressing and garment are then placed. The entire procedure is performed in Dr. Palmer’s in-office surgical suite.

Afterwards, the patient can expect tenderness, bruising, and mild swelling of the treated areas. The tenderness and bruising are mostly resolved at one week, however the swelling can last longer. Results should be apparent within two weeks and continued improvement is expected for up to three months. Results are expected to last long term.

The procedure can be combined with liposuction of the same area or other areas and can be obtained in a discounted package. Pricing is variable and is based on the size of the area(s) to be treated. A consultation is necessary for this.
